In 1985, a bequest was made from the estate of Mrs M J Guthrie to the society in the name of her husband, to help fund ENT research projects. The Douglas J Guthrie Fund was established with that aim.
The Council of the Society are the Trustees of the fund. Any member of the Society may apply to be considered for a contribution towards a project's costs from the fund, using this application form. The application guidelines are below. The method of application is by submitting the completed form to the Secretary.
- Applications will be judged on their quality
- The process is competitive
- Applicants must have been members of the Society for at least one year, prior to applying
- Members may only submit one application per year
- Applications should be prospective and submitted two months before each Society meeting
- The Training Programme Directors will assess each application with the final decision made by Council
